Chase's Birthday

Hannah and Brunson had a great time at Chase's 3rd birthday party. The theme was "It's time to make a mess" and all the kids did. It was a finger painting party and everyone had so much fun! Mrs. Shellie & Mr. Dwayne always have great parties and their home is like Toys R Us. With a trampolean, plenty of power wheels, 4-wheelers and so much more!

Field Trip!

Hannah enjoyed her first school field trip. The class went to the Lexington museum and learned all about the life and times of the Cherokee Indians. I think Hannah enjoyed her first time on a bus just as much as she did the actual museum. All the kids had fun playing the Cherokee games, singing the songs and hearing the stories they were told.

ENTHUSIASTIC EAGLET

Hannah was awarded this past week at school! She is the Enthusiastic Eaglet of the week. Hannah's teacher, Mrs. Schafer, recognized Hannah as the student who followed all the rules, studied hard and was an asset to the class. So Hannah got to bring Hammy the hamster home. She has been taking such great care of the hamster and she is really attached. Hope she can part with Hammy when it is time for him to return to the classroom. We are so proud of Hannah, she is really growing up fast!

While Daddy worked the festival Hannah and Brunson sure enjoyed dancing to the band. Hannah bought a traditional Greek dancing skirt and really got into the hip movements! The food was great, especially the Gyros!

Day trip to Charleston

We went to Charleston for the day to visit Uncle Greg, Aunt Jen Jen and Patrick. We spent the entire day out on their boat. What fun! The sites from the harbor looking into the battery were just amazing and we even got a view of the new Charleston bridge. We stopped off at shark tooth island and found shark teeth, seashells and went swimming. We all had just a great relaxing day on the water.

Hannah Had Professional Coaching!

Hannah had her second softball practice. She is getting better! Her throwing is really getting impressive. She is having a great time and that is what really matters. We all got a great suprise, especially Hannah. Maw-maw snuck into town and picked Hannah up from school early. We all enjoyed visiting together for awhile and then it was time for Hannah's softball practice. Finally a real coach stepped on the field. Maw-maw really showed Hannah the basics of softball. From throwing to catching to hitting the ball, Maw-maw showed Hannah how to get it done. Now if we can get Maw-maw to come to town at every practice! We all had a great time and enjoyed Maw-maw's visit. Thank you for the surprise visit Maw-maw-we love you!

HANNAH PLAYS SOFTBALL

Hannah had her first softball practice. And she loved it! She was so excited to play on the same team as her neighbor, Savannah. I must admit, we have a lot of practice ahead of us, but at least she was the cutest little one on the field! I was amazed at those little girls - at the age of 5 and six, those girls can really play. I wasn't aware the age to start softball is now three. So Hannah is working hard to catchup, but I am sure she will be just fine. I see the real talent behind my little athlete, hehe. I am looking forward to watching and cheering my little one on, and yes I want to be the team mom. I have to admit - it was hard not going out on that field and help coach, for Chris and myself. We had to hold ourselves back and let the coach handle things. We have practice again on Friday and Chris and I have plans to make sure all the little girls are well hydrated! Anything to support as many of Hannah's journeys in life. Wow, Hannah has really grown up in the last three weeks - starting school and now joining a softball team. I am really proud of her adjustments to all these changes. Her independence is has really become a big deal for her. My heart is so full of love for this very special little girl.

Weekend with Mikey

Hannah's first week of school has come and gone. I made it! When Brunson and I picked up Hannah on Friday we got a great surprise. Mikey was going to spend the weekend with Hannah. Now Mikey is her Kindergarten class' monkey (stuffed animal). What a treat! Hannah got chosen first out of her class to get to bring Mikey home. Whomever has been a good student and followed directions all week gets chosen to bring Mikey home. Hannah was so proud, she was just a waiving to Brunson and me while we waited in the (longest) line of cars picking up students. It is finally our turn and Hannah jumps in the car. Her mouth is running a mile a minute, she is telling us all about getting chosen 1st. Well with Mikey comes his journal. We are suppose to keep the journal active for Mikey. So boy is my mind racing to try and come up with fun things for us to do.

HANNAH'S FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

My little girl is all grown up now. Today was the big day for her. She started kindergarten today. All summer long she has been waiting on the day she would get to be a big girl and start school. Her morning started at 6:30! She got right on up and was in a great mood ready to go. She has to be at school at 7:45 and although we live very close to her school the traffic is heavy. All the way there she talked to Mawmaw on the phone. As excited as she was, I could tell she was alittle nervous too. As soon as we started to get out of the car, she saw her couson Hailey. Boy did Hannah get excited then! We all walked into school together, I think this really helped Hannah feel more comfortable. We found Hannah's classroom and her teacher (Mrs Schaffer - which Hannah really seems to like). Now was time for mama and daddy to leave. I somehow felt I was losing my little girl. I tried not to let Hannah see, but this was one of the saddest days of my life. I cried the whole way out of the school - all the way home and every hour as I thought of her. I had a very important meeting and so I wasn't able to pick Hannah up from school. I know it was very special to her daddy to get to have the honor of picking up his little girl from her first day of school. Hannah came home talking about all the fun and exciting things she and all her new friends did at school. I believe Hannah had a bitter sweet day. As exciting as school was for her, she seemed to ask alot throughout the afternoon what I had done all day as well as what Brunson, daddy and Mawmaw had done. I think she in a way felt like she may have missed something while at school. I look forward to all the school activities I get to share with Hannah, like field trips, mommy volunteer days and many others.

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY BRUNSON!

Brunson had a wonderful time celebrating his 3rd birthday! Mawmaw, Greg, Jennifer and Patrick came to help us celebrate. The kids enjoyed playing outside on the slip-n-slide and driving the power wheels! Mawmaw made a great birthday cake for Brunson and we all enjoyed the cake and ice cream. The kids had a great time destroying the pinata! They all took turns and Brunson was the winner in emptying out all the goodies! Thanks everyone for sharing Brunson's birthday!

Having some fun in Camden

We had such a great time in Camden! We spent most of the day on Friday at Nana's! We cut her grass and cleaned up a bit. She was so happy to see all the work we did, but mostly excited to see Hannah and Brunson. We ate fresh peaches off of Nana's trees and watched the kids dance and play. Chris even shot some left over fireworks for Nana and the kids. When we got back to Mawmaw's it was time to go swimming. Hannah and Brunson love to go swimming in the river. They swam until dark. I don't think I have seen Hannah that tired in a long time... she even asked to go night night. The next morning Mawmaw cooked us pancakes! Mawmaw then took the kids to the pier for some fishing. We all had a great time. Hannah just wasn't ready to end the fun and so she wanted to stay with Mawmaw a little longer. So we had to come home and check on Tweeter and Hannah stayed. I know she is having big fun with Mawmaw still.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

We had a great time celebrating independence day! The kids enjoyed playing outside while daddy was grilling the ribs. Hannah and Brunson love the water and what fun they had on their slip-n-slide. We also set up the kids tent and they loved hiding out in there. We had water gun fights and bubble chasing. And then at dark we went to Dwayne, Shellie & Chase's house for fireworks. All the men brought in fireworks and the mamas and children sat back and enjoyed the show. We were all real proud of Brunson because this was his first time not being scared of the fireworks. We all had such a great day!

The kids love to go to the park! We were out getting some errands done and we happen to pass by the park. WOW 4 o'clock in June sure is hot! We were so excited to find a shaded creek area to explore. Well that was until the monster mosquitos started attacking us. Hannah and Brunson found neat birds, squirrels and even a crawfish! Even with the heat and bugs the kids had a great time, but mama sure was happy when it was time to come home!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Daddy had a wonderful Father's Day! His day started with breakfast in bed. What a treat! Then we headed for Lake Murray for a day of fun. The kids enjoyed taking turns helping daddy drive the boat and we all caught lots of fish. But I think the swimming was the most fun for everyone. We all got a little too much sun! But of course we talked about Papa and remembered some good times with him. We all miss him so.
