IN LOVING MEMORY

How to say goodbye? I can't even find the words. My grandma was so special to me. Not only because she was the only grandparent I ever knew...she was kind and gentle but yet so strong. Grandma was happiest at her home with all her family around with her flowers in bloom and her garden full of crop. She could put together a meal big enough to feed our whole family in a matter of minutes and it would be the best food you could taste and oh her baking was the best...I'll hold that very special pound cake recipe very close to my heart and of course all the memories of her teaching me the love and care of baking. I remember fondly of the weeks in the summer when I was growing up and it just being me and her. I would help her garden in the mornings, go to work with her during the day and finish the day with quilting time late in the evenings and of course the nightly routine of the mint M&Ms we shared at bedtime. I remember the times when Chris and I started dating and we would pick grandma up every Friday night and go to the Seafood Hut for our favorite crab leg supper...the times of her riding in Chris's jeep with the top and doors off and grandma sitting up there proud as punch. I remember both my babies being born and being so proud to take them to meet their great grandma. She would hold, rock and feed the little ones with such joy. I will cherish my everyday calls to grandma...ten a.m. was our time. I will remember my last visit and cherish it always. Grandma I am so proud for you, I know you are up in heaven with Granddad and Daddy and I know you are happy...my heart just hurts and I miss you so much. I love you always.

JUST A FEW THINGS

Brunson's class had "The Author's Tea Party" and how fantastic it was. Brunson wrote the sweetest, most amazing story...about Mommy!!! I was so shocked and so very proud! Of course being at school I had to stop off and chat with Hannah and her girlfriends on the playground! My sweet babies make me so happy!!!

Hannah and I took a little drive to North Carolina last week-end to go to Great Uncle Shuf's funeral. For such a sad occasion, we had a great time. We got to see all of Grandma's family...even meet alot of ones we didn't know before. We enjoyed spending the night with Aunt Doris and her sweet dog Ginger. Hannah got so excited about seeing the mountains and we both can't wait for our next visit!
