My Sweet Baby Girl

Today was one of those days never to forget. My precious little Hannah had her first visit to the ER. I got a call from the school nurse telling me Hannah had double vision, one severly crossed eye and a massive headache. I rushed to the school to find her in the nurse's office and I almost fainted and vomited right there. She was the most pitiful thing sitting there all white in the face without control of her eye. The Lord was with me and I put on that Mama face and scooped her up and said let's go get you to Dr Griggs and let him fix you up. How I remained calm, I'll never know. Aunt Beth called Dr. Griggs office to let them know we were on the way...they suggested we got straight to the ER. While remaining calm on the outside, I was in complete shock...My mind would not think, talking to Mama on the phone - she had to talk me through the directions to the hospital (I have been to this hospital sooo many times!) Once at the hospital things moved rather quickly, they started evaluating Hannah and got her into a room in no time...She was very brave through the CAT scan and speaking to all the nurses and doctors. Results of the scan were great. After all the test, the doctor feels like she had muscle spasms from straining her eyes and she is near sited. We have to follow up with the specialist this week. Hannah is pretty excited about getting glasses, she says it is a fashion accessory and she is going to look so smart! They gave her some meds and her headache is now gone, her spasm (crossing of the eye) lasted about 45 minutes and she has been absolutely perfect every since. Thank you to Maw-maw for all the directions and driving (90 mph) to Columbia to help keep me calm and support Hannah. Thanks to Aunt Beth (and all her family for prayers) for keeping me calm and coming and waiting at the hospital with us. All the Coca-cola guys for helping Chris get to the hospital in record time. Thank you dear Lord for the blessing my little girl is to me.
